Hollywood Sign Run FAQ — Everything You Need to Know

Q: What is the course terrain composed of?

A: The 8M course is approximately 6 miles of trails, and 2 miles of asphalt. We recommend you wear trail running shoes to better handle the uphill and downhill sections of the course. The 8K course is 3.12 miles of trails, and 1.9 miles of asphalt. The 5K course is 3.12 miles of trails. Kid run is all trails.

Q: Can I get a refund?

A: No, we do not offer refunds however we do allow a one time transfer to one of our other events (of equivalent price) or the ability to transfer your registration to another individual.

Q: Can I defer to next year?

A: Yes, we do allow a one time deferral. If you’d like to defer please inform us at least 7 days prior to the event.

Q: Are strollers or dogs allowed?

A: No, due to the terrain strollers are not allowed. No, dogs are not allowed.

Q: Can I pick up my packet race morning?

A: Yes, between 6:15 AM -7:15 AM at base of Old Zoo however we strongly discourage you from picking up on race day due to potential lines.

Q: Can a friend pick up my packet?

A: Yes. They will need to bring a photocopy of your ID.

Q: Is there Gear Check?

A: Yes, there is a gear check at the starting line starting at 6:15 AM Sunday morning. All Gear must be picked up by 11:15 AM.

Q: Will there be Aid Stations? or Port-a-potties?

A: There will be aid stations at the start/finish, and at miles 1.63, 3.5, 4.5, and 6.62 for the 8M. For the 8K their is an aid station at 1.5 miles and 3.5 miles. For the 5K aid stations will be at start/finish, miles 1.52. Porta-a-Potties will only be at start/finish.

Q: Can I transfer my registration from the 8M to the 5K or 8K, or the 5K, or 8K to the 8M?

A: Yes, If you’d like to transfer please inform us at least 7 days prior to the event. Note: An additional fee may apply to those transferring from the 5K/8K to 8M.

Q: HOW lONG DO i HAVE TO COMPLETE THE 8M, 8K OR 5k?

A: OUR EVENT ENDS AT 10:30 Am, SO YOU’LL HAVE APPROXIMATELY 2 1/2 HOURS TO COMPLETE EITHER THE 8m, 8K, OR 5k.

Q: May an adult parent or guardian run/Walk with participants of the Kiddie Run?

A: Yes

Q: iS THE cOURSE oPEN TO THE pUBLIC?

a: yES, cLOSED COURSES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN A PUBLIC PARK HOWEVER REFRESHMENTS, AID STATIONS, VOLUNTEER SUPPORT, ETC IS EXCLUSIVE TO PARTICIPANTS. wHILE ON THE COURSE pLEASE BE WARY OF EQUESTRIAN RIDERS, HIKER, AND RUNNERS.

Q: Is there race day registration?

A: Yes, we accept cash, venmo, and zelle. $65 for 5K, $67 for the 8k, and $79 for 8m.
